The gravity data available at this website are based on U.S. and the border region data sets that have been complied from a vast number of sources. Virtually all compilations begin with a data set that has been assembled and maintained by the National Image and Mapping Agency (NIMA). The database is part of a collaborative effort by the U.S. Geological Survey, University of Texas at El Paso, Arizona State University, Pan American Center for Earth and Environmental Studies (PACES), National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Agency(NOAA), National Science Foundation (NSF), National Aeronautic and Science Administration (NASA), and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).
